PET BOARDING SERVICE OF THE YEAR
Canine Physio @ SooZoo - Physiotherapy Services
Canine physio offers the following services:
Rehabilitation treatment plans should involve a range of treatments to provide the best possible return to function for your pet. Canine Physio is able to offer a wide range of treatments, in one location and for a single cost per session as opposed to per treatment.
The goals of rehabilitation are to:
Treatments aim to relieve muscle tension, spasm and address soft tissue injury, compensation and skeletal defects. The body responds to these treatments by increasing blood flow and oxygen to areas of concern; which encourages a positive healing environment to develop within the body. Once a positive healing environment is formed within the body the patient is more likely to mobilise in a more normal manner, which reduces stress and compensation across the body, relieves pain and discomfort and puts them on a track to restoring as much normal function as possible.
Some conditions will resolve completely, whilst others like arthritis, degenerative joint disease and some neurological conditions, will gradually cause the patient to loose normal mobility and function. In these cases rehabilitation plays a strong role in slowing the progression of the condition and providing an improved quality of life through increased strength, mobility and reduced pain and discomfort.
Rehabilitation treats the patient as a whole and does not just focus on the injured or affected area of the body, it takes into account the additional stresses and compensation placed across the entire body and how the muscles and joints respond to these stresses.
Rehabilitation does not just treat patients after injury or surgery, it can be used to support patients – young and old – that suffer from arthritis, joint deformities, neurological conditions and repetitive strain injuries. It can also be used to prepare and maintain dogs that compete for fun or professionally in sports and other activities.
In order to encourage the best possible recovery your pet is treated as a whole, we never treat just the injured or painful area.
Conditions commonly treated
Soft tissue concerns
Orthopaedic Concerns
Neurological Concerns
Balance & Co-ordination
Some medical conditions leave our pets unbalanced and poorly co-ordinated; physiotherapy and massage can improvement the balance and co-ordination of some pets and reduce the amount of compensation and weight transfer that is occurring in the body
